Sturm swept 5 of the last 6 rounds on my scorecard and had him a point up at the end of it.Terrific fight and Macklin derserves a lot of credit-but so does Sturm.:thumbsup
I'm definitely with you on that one :good But in regards to Sturm and Macklin, I think they put up a great showing for the fighters they are. We shouldn't expect them to provide a fight with skill-level of RJJ-JT, simply because they're not good enough.
Here is a question. Since, Sturm last won the MW title, who has been his greatest opponent? Its not a great list of boxers. You don't have to wait years for a 'where are they now feature', put it that way. There is no challenge in taking on B list contenders.
Sturm has a beautiful jab. He should have been sitting behind the jab and fighting at range. But agreed. Sturm looked limited.
Ok, perhaps my expectations were just too high. I guess we would say it was a nice gutsy performance if this was like a fight for the Mediterenean IBO title or something like that. But what bugs me is that it was for a world title. But yeah, I guess they did what they could - but after this fight it is certain that Martinez would make absolute fools of both despite giving up a lot of natural size.
yeah, what he's just said was a load of bollocks. it was a great fight to watch. wrong winner, though.
you much prefer Toney-Rjj? but that was one sided! what skill did toney show that night, other than getting hit with the left hook round after round?
I thought the fight was a great advert for boxing.High paced and competitive the whole way through.116-112 twice was way off,but Sturm nicking it wouldn't have been a robbery.
he had to be. had he of opened up more, macklin would be able to land cleaner punches. he needed that high guard. macklin was all over him like a closet monster.
..You don't read the case he made but called him a **** anyway... I believe that makes you a dumb ****ing ignorant **** yourself.
