Sturm won't make mandatory vs Golovkin

True but a bit harsh.....

You need to remember Siace beat Mundine to win the WBA 168 title.....then Siaca got flogged by Kessler in his first defence....Mundine knowing Siaca just got smashed took on Kessler....Mundine fought well but lost to the better man.

He then fought the dangerous Danny Green 1 year later in a title eliminator....(Australias biggest fight)...Mundine won that fight by 4 rounds

He then went on to face Soloman for the regular WBA strap when Kess was elevated to superchamp v Joe

Later Kess got in a mandatory position and a shot at Mundine......I guess Mundine thought no point in getting beaten again.....so he went to his right weight of MW

Mundine walks around at 76kgs today and makes 72kgs easy....Kess was just too big for Mundine :deal

 

Seems it took him quite a while to finally get down to the 160 limit if I recall correctly. Several fights above the limit. No?

 

I bet you Golovkin would KO Sturm. I really can't see this as anything other than a ducking. Sturm will lose if they fight imo. Golovkin is amongst the top prospects in the division and Sturm knows this all too well.

 

Yes thats true mate but for several reasons

1. Mundine is trained by his dad Tony Mundine...a pro boxer as well in his day....they do it old school

2. They dont call Mundine choc for nothing....the guy wont drink or smoke but he has a massive sweet tooth

3. He has never been on a diet....just trains and sweats to make weight


He now has a new conditioning coach....Mundine SNR is still in charge of boxing traning but his diet is great and without the the crap food he now walks around at 76kgs

He had a shot of getting down to 154 for his last fight and he was 71kgs 4 days out but the IBO pulled the belt so they fought at 160

I lost an avatar bet with that fight
