Is he the most irrelevant fighter in the MW Division? Fights nobodies when he is the champ and fights nobodies when he isn't the champ. I would have loved to see have seen him square off against Sergio or Gennady. Hell, even Abraham. But he just doesn't seem interested... Anyone else agree? Except Barker, Murray and Macklin, I can't remember when he was in there against the elite of his division.
On consistency and longevity alone, Felix has been one of this century's top middleweights. Tough night work for anyone. At his best no one would beat Sturm easily.
Stieglitz, Solimann 2x, Barker, Geale, Zbik, Murray, Macklin, Sylvester, Griffin 2x, Castillejo 2x, de la Hola... It's not that bad in my eyes
i think boxing scene had an article on him and how at the end of his career, we finally got more meaningful fights. He fought Soliman to get his mandatory shot at Geale. Fought Barker(2 fight deal) cos Barker had just beaten Geale.
Add former 3X SMW titlist Robert Steiglitz to that and yeah, not a BAD resume at all. Actually quite solid, but there's several gifts in there, and he blatantly ducked GGG and Im pretty sure Priog too.:think
Sergio didn't fight the Abrahams, GGG's or Sturms of the division Pavlik's didn't fight the Abrahams, GGG's or Sturms of the division Abraham didn't fight the Sergio's, GGG's, Pavliks or Sturms of the division GGG didn't fight the Sergio's, Abrahams, Pavliks or Sturms of the division :deal
