    O snap! :patsch

Now I'm really hoping for Geale to win... or a draw would be even funnier (both keep their own titles and Golovkin would still be mandatory)

He ducked the hell out of AA and Pavlik and now he's ducking GGG. Felicia is indeed the biggest duck in boxing. :hat

it's no surprise. sturm is and was the biggest ducker in boxing for 10 years. he ducked aa at middleweight and he is ducking golovkin for 2 years. i would love to see a draw and then this mother****er has to fight golovkin. how can anyone respect this guy?

Alot of us on here have been saying he would do this for months now ever since it was announced. It was the only loophole to avoid Golovkin again and now he's ensured he'll never have to fight him.

"Never underestimate the predictability of cowardice" - a slight change to Bullet Tooth Tony's quote from the film Snatch

Couldn't he just make another voluntary defense? I imagine that's what he'll do as long as the WBA let's him get away with it.

Sturm is playing it smart though. He has a contract with a German TV station and just has to feed them low-risk opponents and beat them and he can keep making millions.

Boxing Golovkin is a high risk - low reward setup for Sturm. Nobody really knows Golovkin outside of hardcore boxing fans and Sturm's money making machine would abruptly break down if he fought Golovkin.

So, ducking yes. But c'mon guys, what would you do if you were Sturm? :deal

Also, Sturm could probably fight Abraham down the line at SMW that would make 5x the money a Golovkin fight would. Both Abraham and Sturm want this fight but only at the end of both men's career, so it's low risk for both. Obviously they both want a couple easy paydays first.

My favorite part of Sturm's promotion of this fight is whenever he goes on about how unification fights are the ultimate contests in boxing and actually says with a straight face that he's been dreaming of a fight like this for years, as if the poor guy simply never had the opportunity to fight another beltholder
