Wrong! A prime Margo is a counter-punchers' wet dream and he would be picked apart and schooled by PBF. The guy doesn't apply educated pressure from behind the jab and gives up his height fights dumb eats far too many shots and doesn't hit hard post loaded wraps anyway. He would be nothing but a big slow moving target. He's wide open throws looping shots and slow of both hand and foot, PBF would hit him and he would be gone forcing Margo to reset again and again. He would be countered and beat to the punch all night.:deal Margo wouldn't win a round against PBF he's too flawed and limited. Easy work for PBF much like the Baldo fight, it would be a clinic.:deal
:thumbsup Would have been an easy victory for Floyd. I personally think a guy like Winky would have beaten Floyd. Its going to take a bigger guy with decent speed, good jab, and ring IQ to beat Mayweather. I think Martinez can beat him.
I agree. Winky would have beaten PBF back when he was at 154. Bad style match up for him. Winky applied educated pressure walking guys down from behind a ATG jab and excellent tight guard. He was also big and strong with underrated toughness and ring IQ.
I`d say its more so the man rather than the style that would beat fmj... for eg. Castillo & JC Chavez were pressure fighters for the most part, fmj proved superior to Castillo thru 2 fights but I`d favour Chavez to beat fmj using the same gameplan because he has more variety & is technically superior to Castillo.
Prime Margo would get a boxing lesson of a lifetime anyone who can break down a fight can see it. You don't know **** about boxing log off.
Well I guess we will never know, since Floyd decided to fight Baldomir instead. Lets put it this way, Margo has faced a lot of good competition: Martinez Cintron Williams Cotto Mosley Pacquiao Im sure you know which ones Margo beat and which fights he got beat in. Now I am no Margo fan by any means; but in his prime Margo was a handfull for anyone. You were in for a very tough fight regardless of who you are. I am definetely a boxing fan, not just one boxers fan. And to me it seems like Castillo gave Floyd his toughest fight and Floyd wanted nothing to do with a prime Margarito at the time the fight was proposed. Why, because in the welter division Margarito most closely resembled Castillo. Just a bigger, taller, and longer version. Btw the 3 guys that have beat Margo on that list are not considered counter punchers. But they do have one thing in common; they threw a high volume of power punches. Something Floyd is not known for.
