It amazes me that people still fail to grasp this basic and most intriguing facet of the fight game. eg foreman destroys Norton, Norton beats ali, ali beats foreman.

Just because fighter A beats fighter B, it doesn't mean that fighter A beats fighter C.

Give some types of round robin 3 man fight circles where styles make fights and produced differing results?

you need to explain this to calzaghe fans. everytime hopkins beats someone, they get boners because they think that means joe is automatically better because he had a shitty split decision vs a 43 year old fighter. it's comical.

No one knows this, people think Karass wouldnt have a chance against Khan because Maidana beat Karass and lost to Khan

Too many people use boxers wins and losses to tell if they can beat a certain someone, dont think their brains can handle analysing it style wise

" Styles make fights - why do so few people still fail to understand this concept? "
So your problem is that there are still a few people that fail to understand this concept?
So the vast majority does understand, why arguing about the remaining few who fail??

Pure ****. This styles makes fights garbage is spouted by arrogant fools who think they have some sort of intellectual insight of the game.

A perfect example is Mayweather who ADAPTS to every one of his opponents styles. Some fighters are simply superior to their opponents, and that is nothing to do with styles. Anything can happen at any given time in a fight. Take the Curry / McCallum fight. Donald was in his comfort zone handing out something of a lesson to Mike then BANG, goodnight nurse. Same thing with Graham / Jackson, Jones / Laing, the same Laing who beat a prime Duran, but a Duran that couldn't be bothered to train properly for the fight.

Great fighters simply adapt to what is in front of them, that is what makes them great.

There is some truth in what you say but to pretend that styles don't make fights and produce a degree of unpredictability in a fight is ridiculous.
