Think Pernell sits lower and jives a fair bit more. Think Rigo uses his legs a little more then what Pernell did who would stay in the line of fire a bit more and work from the hips. Rigo's extremely quick of hand and foot it's unreal how co-ordinated he is i watched him and Diaz in the media workout using 2 balls and Diaz throws them and he catches them and throws back. Sensational speed..
A little bit, but not all that much. Whitaker was more rounded, a more complete operator to me, by a fair margin. As good as Rigo is, he's not as comfortable in the pocket, under fire like Whitaker was, which is the biggest difference between the two. Rigo will use his legs to get out of the way, whereas Whitaker would stand and trade, whilst making the opponent miss all the time, masterful stuff. I can't think of any fighter that looked more at home in the ring than Pernell.... ridiculous really.
Not a great amount to be honest, Whitaker was a volume puncher, with an all time great jab, that was happy to box at any range without any issues, he also lacked power, but throw great combinations. Rigondeaux hasn't shown as yet that he's able to fight on this inside. He's a master at setting distance, has an amazing balance and footwork (his footwork is better than Whitaker IMO) to control the range and then landing lazar guided pot shots, but thrown with mean intentions. Rigo might not throw that many punches, but when he does that left is devastating, he's much more powerful and explosive with his punches than Whitaker, but doesn't combine them like Whitaker did, or throw with volume. Both masterful fighters, and as good defensively as you will see. Different though in the way they defend themselves, and most certainly different with regards their offensive abilties
