Yep! Ngannou gave a great account of himself against Fury but I still wouldn't back him to have much luck against a master boxer like Usyk. That would be like a tank trying to keep pace with a Ferrari.
This is always a problem when people claim one fighter came in woefully unprepared and unfocused. It’s a wild card often played without due qualification and quantification. How much of the perception of Fury being unprepared was confirmed in some people’s minds after the fact - given the complexion and result of the fight? I’d guess some people have figured that Fury HAD to be ill prepared given the trouble he had with a pro boxing debutant. That’s simply circular reasoning. When you watch the actual fight you’ll see that Ngannou nullified and exceeded Fury in key areas that Fury normally enjoys - therefore no wonder or mystery as to why Francis did so well. Ngannou has his own back stories as to why he himself might not have been at his absolute best. Fury was also still presented with the advantage of Ngannou having to carefully pace himself - Francis being in his first pro boxing foray - against a claimant to the HW Title, no less, - very much uncharted waters for Ngannou as far as stamina went - and Francis was certainly doing some heavy breathing himself early in the piece. If for little or no proofs otherwise of his broadly applied quality, Francis may well be Fury’s stylistic bogeyman. An ill prepared and poorly focused Ali got caught out against Norton in their first fight. Ali trained the house down for the rematch - if one put the result of the first fight down to just poor prep. on Ali’s part, one might’ve thought Ali would’ve beaten Norton by a clear margin the second time around - but it didn’t happen, Ken still gave Muhammad sheer hell.
Nah, Francis caught Fury on the decline. Fury's days are numbered. Too much ballooning up in between fights, drugs and alcohol have started to erase, erode and deteriorate his once God given skills. He did not take care of the gifts God has given him, so now, God is taking them back. God will use Fury as an example, a cautionary tale if you will. Fury will be put on display as to why you never take God's gifts for granted. Usyk will be God's teaching tool. Usyk will glide across the ring effortlessly. Always out of danger, out of range. 2 steps ahead of the obese drug addict. Fury, on the other hand will feel all his weight magnified. His big feet will feel like he's walking up stream in waste high water. Fury will feel like he can never take in enough air to catch a full breath. His fists will be slow and arms too short to touch Usyk. Fury will lose.
That is a very possible scenario , especially if ngannou tries to clean box usyk . On the other hand ngannou has the potential to knock out and /or severely injure usyk with a single punch , he can also easily walk thru usyks punches to close distance and clinch / lean usyk to death . If francis will be prepared for a dirty battle making best use of his massive body strenght and shot resistance i,m not so sure what would happen . It would be a very interesting fight
THIS. Usyk has ate a few absolute rockets from Joshua and never was close to going down. Also took a couple a clean Gassiev power shots and same. Usyk’s chin is every bit of 8 or 9. Add to that he stays very alert and sees everything coming… he’s VERY good to go in punch resistance category.
Usyk is an elite fighter and that's the difference while Ngannou looked good because of Fury's unpreparedness...
