Stylistically Margarito would of destroyed Mayweather makes so much sense he did not fight him

Cotto is 1000x the man Margarito ever was.

Cotto did make some adjustments in the rematch for sure. He still backpedaled too much for my taste. Allowing Margo to build up the same momentum as the first fight for the later rounds.

 

Margo's biggest win is the only fight to point to that he could "cut the ring" and beat an elite level fighter. A fight in which he cheated to win.

 

Only in one fight was he accused of cheating was Mosley not Cotto

 

I will certainly grant that he did still fought the majority of the fight off the back foot. I just think his retreat was more controlled the second time around. I also don't think he was as badly off at the end of the ninth as some Margo fans would have you believe. Most likely outcome at that point still appeared to be a comfortable decision for Cotto even if Margo's eye hadn't been (re)injured.

But, to your point...Even though I tended to root for Cotto a bit more than FMJ, we both agree Mayweather had more tools at his disposal in terms of inside game and outside movement to keep Margo at bay.

Bro Margarito fought a green Martinez 2 years into his career that’s like hyping up the dude who beat B Hop in his first 10 fights or Sanchez who beat Manny when he was a teenager... y’all need to stop .... the fact of the matter is outside of possibly cheating Cotto Tony has not accomplish zilch and every half way decent fighter he fought including the Cotto rematch they whipped his ass.

If he could not catch Mosley what chance does he have against Mayweather a guy who made a career of beating the crap out of Mexican and Mexican style fighters I am told it’s therapeutic but it’s an overrated experience lol.

 

You can talk all you want how much he would do etc. Margarito is most dangerous Mexican he would have fought. He had Castillo problems and Hoya problems BTW. Margartio was prime a lot stronger than Castillo brudder.

 

How you can compare Margarito favorably against Mexican guys and Mexican style fighters like both Hernandez’s, Chavez, Castillo at his peak, Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, the great Marquez, Canelo, Hatton etc defies common sense, logic and boxing expertise. Margarito can’t give anyone problems except when he cheated with loaded gloves. Margarito certainly had Paul Williams problems, Daniel Santos problems, Miguel Cotto problems, Sugar Shane Mosley problems and Manny Pacquiao problems. The last 3 had major Floyd Mayweather problems. Oscar De La Hoya still has Floyd Mayweather problems. I have told you accept your issues with your hatred of Floyd Mayweather as acceptance is part of the way to redemption. Come on young man you can do it, we believe in you. I don’t want you to suffer the same symptoms as Oscar De La Hoya as it’s not a good look in a grown man. All the best I am rooting for you.

 

And you can talk about how great a guy is with more than a half of dozens loses is. And how he would beat the best fighter of the era up, when in reality he couldn't even beat d level rodney jones up. Face it margo is a cheating bum and pbf is the best fighter of the era hof an atg the 2 arent within a galaxy of each other. Margo aint dangerous pbf shut out Mosley who beat the brakes off of margo and schooled pac who put a demolition job on the bum.


For the last time pick a better fighter than this slow as plodding bum. I have yet to see one poster here in all these post make any type of breakdown as to how margo beats pbf other than to say he walks through his shots, which actually means nothing because landed shots whether they have effect or not are scoring shots. This has been the worst job of wishful thinking than i can remember on this site. You can't draw up a scenario as to how pbf loses to margo other than him hurting his hands in the fight from landing so many flush right hands and clean counters on this bum. Even then pbf would likely be up by so many rounds as it wouldn't matter because margo is a very slow starter.

Lastly margo is no where as good as jlc. When was margo seen as the best ww of the era like jlc was seen as at lw?
