In MMA an MMA'er beats boxer and vi ce versa

MMA IS NOT THE BE ALL AND END ALL OF FIGHTING

if it was, Tito Ortiz would have ground and pounded Lee Murray, Sakuraio would have whooped the construction worker and Don Frye woudl have k.o'ed the boxing trainer.. BUT THAT DIDNT HAPPEN, DID IT???

MMA has more complete fighters. that is the nature of the sport. There are kicks, knees, ground etc... So you have to more complete fighter

Boxers are the toughest fighters. it is the nature of the sport. 10 oz gloves, 10 count, and only hands means when you ar egetting your ass kicked you cant go for the take down OR QUIT.. You have to dig deep

What does that have to do with the fact that boxing is just one part of fighting?

BJ Penn would utterly humiliate and destroy PBF in about 1 minute.
    And that isn't an exaggeration.

If you guys dont know, in street fights, tito ortiz got beat up by a no namer... don frye got beat up by a boxing trainer and sakurai got his orbital bone broken by a construction worker

WTF DO YOU THINK A LEGIT BOXER WITH PUNCHING POWER WOULD DO IN TEH STREETS when there is no one telling you what one guys discipline is and john mccarthy isnt screaming "LETS GET IT ON"

give me a break with this. You can keep your "fighting"..There is a clear preference being made here, Boxing is a sport and will NEVER die and will always be around. Some people take interest in watching individuals become true masters of their craft like a Floyd Mayweather or a Roy Jones or an absolute power puncher in Mike Tyson. And please don't make boxing out to be this repetitive 1 dimensional sport. The boxing aspect in MMA may be 1 dimensional but thats because MMA fighters are ****ing pathetic at throwing punches. Theres just as much diversity in styles in boxing than there is martial art forms in MMA. The difference here is that in boxing you can perfect your style, and in MMA everyone is 'average' at a bunch of **** and when it comes down to it thats what MMA looks like, a bunch of half assed ****.

Stupid points, but 1 good one.

    Boxing is a great sport.

It is not however, the best training system for real fighting.

Just ask the armed forces of the world what their hand to hand fighting system consists off, the answer certainly includes boxing, but it is always combined with many other tactics.

Of course, MMA doesn't make you invincible, its just the best available option.

This is why Jack Dempsey's training regimene he designed for the US armed forces in WW2 consisted of lots and lots of live training in boxing, wrestling, and submissions, essentially early MMA.

This thread has run its course.
