There would have been a stoppage in either direction normally given how tired Palmetta was and how many flush bombs James ate, but for the latter being too durable as well as too feather-fisted to allow it.

Palmetta needed a shotgun to win by SD.

Decent win for James but the whole spiel in the corner is going to really hold back what he can get. Presumably the next step is being fed to Ennis.

I wonder if Palmetta's left was broken at some point. Didn't throw it a lot. He took the 10th, but I don't think he has a case for any more than three or four. Scores were a little wide but I thought Shango controlled enough to win pretty clear.

James was awkward and periodically exhausted but gutted his way through it to win a very fun fight.

The fact that cancer robbed us of Nick Charles a dozen years ago but Jim Gray of all people is still not only live & kicking but gainfully employed on Showtime boxing telecasts is proof there is no god.

I know we came up with a term for this a while back, sort of the antithesis of "glass cannon", but it escapes me.

    Carborundum peashooter?

That is BS, they must have misquoted Subriel as having said he was glad to never have seen his "fate decided by three random judges". Like - ding-dong, hello? That single career defeat...by UD?

This should be a great fight, Ponce has a little more versatility imo while Matias is more physical and punches a little harder.
I think Matias ultimately outlasts him but it will be a war of attrition until then
