Subriel Matias is absolutely relentless, just doesn’t stop until you give up or the ref stops it, keeps the pressure on, forces you to constantly work and breaks you down by bit, Devin Haney doesn’t have the power to stop him, can see him outboxing him for a bit, but he would undoubtedly tire from being forced to work, and would become more sluggish and laboured, and then ultimately get stopped, the reason he’s tire is because with Subriel Matias, it’s not just the pressure, it’s that combined with the power, you have also keep away from everything because of how hard he hits, to beat someone like him, you have to have your own power, and you have to catch him with it whilst you’re fresh to either change the course of the fight, or to stop him, otherwise you’re in for a long, hard night, Devin Haney doesn’t have the power to do that.

He's the modern day 140 pound version of Felix Trinidad. He's a scary dude.

Still think Haney beats him on points, I can see Matias hurting him though. Lopez at his best beats both of them.

I don't think Haney gets much credit if he unifies against Matias tbh.

Anyone who can cut off the ring effectively and is unaffected by Haney's minimal power, who also happens to be a very heavy handed volume puncher, can beat him, Matias fits that description to a T.

I can't see it, Haney has very good footwork and movement and Matias's defense leaves him susceptible to the jab and counters which Haney will feed him all night long . Plus Haney will be the bigger man in this fight, while I think it will go the distance Haney might mess his face up for a stoppage but I doubt it.

This is the ultimate match up between pure boxer and swarmer. Haney either outboxes and spoils his way to a clear victory or Matias brushes off Haney's punches and slowly breaks down Haney to a late stoppage.

Agreed Haney is on borrowed time. Beating an over the hill Regis is hardly impressive especially when you rehydrate and pack on 11kg after the weigh in

As much as i dislike Haney, he does have really good ring IQ and is a much better boxer than Matias. Haney UD for me.
