Matias' abilities may have been overstated and I must admit he did not show anything that makes him beyond just a one dimensional swarmer.

I still think Matias can be a hard fight for Haney but Paro showed how to properly outbox Matias using angles, fast combos, and footwork. Haney has the ability to do what Paro did but the question would be if he's able to handle the constant aggression from Matias.

 

He also manhandled him, pushed him back at every opportunity, which was smart. Nothing worse for a fighter who likes to come forward to be constantly forced backwards. Matais' style worked well for him when he had a stationary target, basically a punching bag who would give him free shots over and over again. But a fighter that makes him work to get that shot and he becomes far less effective and we saw his volume suffer because of it.

 

I picked ryan to beat Haney but what's fair is fair. He popped dirty and he came in overweight it was disgraceful. I bet he would be singing a different tune if it was the other way around.
