I've heard that JCC never used the speed bag.

Does anyone know if there is any truth behind it? Because it's hard to believe.

Are there any examples in the past of boxers who for whatever reason didn't use a popular training method such as jumping rope, running, etc?

Jose Torres never used a speed bag. Btw, some experts question whether or not the speed bag is of any real use.

A few off the top of my head was Lou Nova incorporating yoga in training and Nino Benvenuti doing some kind of tree-climbing/branch-swinging thing. Also, Jake LaMotta once said he never ran a day in his life.
