Mike Tyson 71" and Naseem Hamed 64" spring to mind. Who else achieved success with a much shorter reach than most of their competition?

Unless you're kidding, B, odd that you should pick Williams. He had a reach longer than Plastic Man.

Something I always pointed out, there aren't too many greats with a short reach. A long reach is probably one of the most underrated benefits a fighter can have.

Tyson, Andre Ward, Dariuz Michalczewski, Gamboa, Sven Ottke and Diego Corrales all had small reaches for their height and have in general been successful.

:D i was kidding. P-Williams has a 79 inch reach. Thats the same as Vitali Klitchko  Wladimirs should be a little longer.
Juan Manuel Marquez, i think, has a short reach too.

When I saw paul williams my first thought was you were referring to the fact that he might as well have t-rex arms with his fight style. He may have been the worst fighter in history at utilizing his reach.

 he was. His trainer should never have been in boxing. Imagine if Emmanuel Steward had trainer Williams from the beginning :-(
He could still be in p4p lists. Wasted talent but an entertaining career. Williams had heart but too bad that he was mismanaged. It makes me furious thinking about it.
