I was so hopeful Groves could bring the title back to the UK for a mega fight with James Degale at Wembley. I stayed up like many to see Groves sunday, but like many have said he has stamina issues. It seems as tho Groves has no eningin on him what so ever after the fifth/six round(s).

Many people say that it the Carl Froch affect but to me it seems something altogether, its probably something Adam Both knew as well. When he was with Adam i believe he was more calm, collective and did'nt throw as many punches, but at the same time less exciting.

It may serve him best to alter his style or go back to way he used to fight (can't see that happening) cause he dosen't have the engin of someone like Santa Cruz who can throw hundreds of punches all night.

Anyway what do u guys think is his problem and what he should do next?

Groves has regressed so much its laughable. Real shame that he went backwards so much since leaving Booth.

Yeah, you aren't funny. Stop trying. :patsch

To the topic, Groves and Degale are very flawed talents.

Everyone writing Groves off, saying he should retire etc.... It's not over for Groves yet, I see no reason why he can't snatch a title at some point. It's not like his career is in pieces like Prices for example, he's lost COMPETITIVE fights to top notch super middleweights!

He tried his heart out. He just couldn't hurt Jack.

If Jack is Top Notch then Ward should just make the move to 175 because 168 is flat on its ****.

But that the very reason Ward wants to try and stay at 168

And who can really blame him - would you rather fight Jack and Degale or Kovalev and Beterbiev?

GG has been cobra'd. No coming back from that

Groves is very skilled and talented, but unfortunately doesn't have the chin or stamina to compete at elite level.

Exactly, that's his problem, I don't even think it's some sort of decline, he was never going to be at that level, he just doesn't have what it takes unfortunately.

Even technically he has "holes" in his game though, I mean he fights with his lead hand down a lot and that causes him to get constantly peppered with jabs cause he doesn't really have the reflexes to avoid it.

Groves is a Euro level competitor whofails at elite level-although I don't even consider Jack as an elite level fighter.Degale is not much better and his day is coming soon.

He has now failed on 3 occasions when it mattered and most fighters don't even get that many shots which suggests he has found his level. Groves must improve because he isn't winning a title anytime soon based upon these performances as a collective result.

Jack isn't the most impressive fighter, but he seems to do enough to win. I don't think he's anything special either but you never know, look at Froch the technique of a good domestic level fighter but the chin and heart of a champion.

I agree that DeGale isn't much better. He struggled with Dirrell badly despite the good start. He has workrate and stamina issues like Groves.

Personally while I think super middle looks like a very competitive division, it doesn't look like a strong division to me, only Ward really stands out.
