Now that the smoke has cleared a little, why would a future HOF fighter need to sucker punch to win a "Tune Up" fight ?

He knew what was going on. He knew exactly what he was gonna do.
He had the vantage point coming forward to see Victor's arms extended and Cortez being in disarray :think

Notice the glance at Cortez to make sure he was not looking right before he unloads.

Maybe a first in the history of boxing.

    Another milestone in Floyd's career.

    You're hallucinating. Seriously.

  4. He did glance at the ref. But i don't think it was to ensure he wasn't looking. I still think it was disgusting but tbf i dont think Mayweather was sneaky about it, he didn't look interested in touching gloves there again,

I think the glance was a signal to Cortez to call time in.

I'm still more disgusted by the initial headbutt, can you add that in your replay?

I don't think he sucker punched him to win the fight. I think he sucker punched him to get revenge. That's all. I doubt he was expecting Ortiz to be knocked the **** out from it.

However, with the way it turned out, it doesn't look good. History will look at it as Mayweather coming back for an easy payday against an overmatched opponent, and the fans get short-changed after a sucker-punch ends the fight abruptly in four, short rounds.

he didn't look interested? yet he accepted Ortiz's embrace and even touched gloves with him, then suddenly unleashed a one-two.:lol:

I know its legal but i don't know how anyone can deny that as a suckerpunch

I know. Ridiculous. The fight deserved the ending it got. A joke all round.

Floyd reluctantly touched gloves. It was a "Yeah whatever, enough of that ****, let's get back to business" way of touching gloves. Even though it was classless and a clear sucker punch, I don't blame him for doing what he did. I blame the referee the most. If he was clear with his instructions like he should have been, then it probably would have just led to another May-Mosley type sucker punch. Nothing to harmful or damaging.

    Maybe.....

    Just maybe.............

    There's a possibility......

    That maybe....................

    Ummmmmmmmmm.................

Mayweather can't play GOD and DECIDE that he was gonna finish Ortiz with that 1-2. Every punch in boxing is speculative. Just like Martinez didn't KNOW he'd KO PW with that shot.

I think you read the situation correctly. People harping on about Floyds "cheapshot" are dumb. Floyd gave Ortiz time to switch back on, when Ortiz just refused to Floyd tried to restart the action. It is not like Pretty Boy felt he had to escape into a snekay KO.
