Bert Sugar and Teddy Atlas both pick Gene Tunney as their alltime #5 heavyweight; they also both put Tunney on their Top-13 Alltime P4P lists (Sugar #13, Atlas #10).

How would you letter grade (A, B, C, D, F) their assesment of Tunney?

    #5 heavy? no

top 13 all time? no...not a knock against him. wins against dempsey and greb are great but just thinking about who would be left off the list as a results makes me say no

I'd rate their assessment overall C. top #13 theres an argument, top 10 there isn't and top 5 at heavy is absurd

top 5 at hw is a joke but i definitely think of tunney as being one of those dudes from 11-20, only really lost once.

it's tough for me to place him cause he does have a good, non heavyweight, resume. looking beyond dempsey, it's very solid (i mean 3 wins over even a blind greb is impressive). adding two dominating wins over dempsey and 11-20 is fair
