Watching him on the pads with Fury tonight, in his own branded vest, it's hard to tell if he's a hanger-on or actually giving Fury any useful advice.

For the last few years I've wondered who's actually training who; Fury seemed to know what he wanted and just needed a coordinator; any views?

I think Sugar Hill plays a proper role here - the amount of shouting, dancing and acting up for the cameras Tyson does creates an image of someone who is ungovernable but look at the way he boxed to instruction in Wilder 1 under Boxercise and how following the switch to Steward, he incorporated a different approach into his style.

This is going on a tangent and obviously Whittaker has bags of talent but to go from Sugar Hill to Jobby Clayton (BRILLIANT AJ) is a terrible career decision.

Whittaker is just starting out and boxes every 2 or 3 months. It's pointless having an American trainer at this stage if he always boxes in England as he'll be flying there & back too often, jet lag etc. It's not a problem if you've got 6 months to prepare for fights.

Okolie looked awful after going to Sugar and soon left him. I know he wasn't the most exciting under McGuigan but at least he was efficient.

Sugars fighters are trained to come forward and to be offensive. Okolie is a ganglier version of Audley at this stage and is scared to engage. It was a terrible choice, def should have stayed with Shane McGuigan.

I think Andy Lee had a lot to do with how Fury fought in the second Wilder fight; possibly it was down to him more than Sugar Hill Steward.

This is what I was getting at in the original post - to me it’s not totally clear what Sugar Hill does but maybe I’m being really unfair. He just seems a strange character at times.

He said he took SugarHill because everybody kept mispronouncing Javan which he got fed up with. He seems like a nice enough little bloke, doesn't he?

    Definitely.

Sugar was actually going to join Tyson’s team in a supporting role under Ben Davison the year before, through Andy Lee.

Well, I am something of a nudist so I don't see any issue with it. We have been socially conditioned to think that being in a clothed state is most appropriate, when I would argue that it is not. He just seems like a man who is living life to the full. He's the best trainer in the world so why not get your shirt off?
