Incorrect. Ever since Bob Arum and Don King came to the stage, we've ALWAYS seen businessmen than warriors.

They were going to fight in 1978 but Dundee saw potential in Tommy becoming a big draw and decided against it.

Their first fight was so much better with the undisputed ww title on the line anyway.

The Hearns/Leonard story is so much better the way it unfolded than had they fought in 1978.

Arum and King has been part of boxing promotions even the during the golden era (post WWII). While they have played a role in changing the economics of boxing, the change in the boxers themselves are their own responsibility.
The "me first" attitude is no different from other professional sports in the US (free agency).

Leonard was a great fighter, but after the first Hearns fight he also became a very careful business man, so it was odd to here him make those accusations about others.
