What can Floyd show him? He certainly isn't getting Ray out of there. Ray can fight coming forward. He can fight backing up. Can Floyd's shoulder rolls carry the day?

No, he ain't got the firepower to do that, he just wins on points as usual.

There's nothing Floyd can show Sugar Ray. He could fight outside and use his height and reach advantage to jab him and rack up points or use his size and reach advantage to get inside and work him

I think if we’re looking at a 1986-87 version of Leonard then Floyd might take a close decision win. But If we’re talking 1979-1982 Leonard then no…

Mayweather gets a close decision, by 86 I think Sugar was slowing slightly. Maybe a little disputed. Similar to the Floyd v Oscar decision.

Floyd would win and fans would give no credit.

There would be nothing usual in fighting Ray Leonard.

Why would he have just won on points?

What if Ray had fought him aggressively?

    Then what?

You’ve said yourself that he didn’t have any firepower. Not only that, he didn’t possess Ray’s confidence and desire.

If Ray had turned the boxing match into a fight, Floyd would have shelled up and fought defensively.

He couldn’t have beaten Ray on points fighting defensively.

An aggressive version of Ray would have neutralised Floyd’s offence.

Leonard never fought in 86. However, if he still has most of his skills like in 87, then Leonard.

    What weight?

We never saw Ray in 1986. Of course, we saw him the following year at MW.

Floyd was at 154 against Oscar in 2007, before dropping back to WW to beat Hatton.
