Marvin was past it when he fought Ray but he was far from done. Ray was past it but far from done too. Occam's Razor-the explanation that requires the least elaboration is the correct one. If Marvin was done the boxing writers covering the fight wouldn't have made him a prohibitive favorite and neither would the linesmakers.

and what exactly would you report me for?

would you complain to the moderator how I keep bringing up the name of Terry Norris which causes you discomfort, renders your argument useless, and even causes you trauma?

If Marvin was far from done, why did he retire?

and why was he contemplating retirement before the fight?

fighters usually dont retire unless they are physically done

You're a ****ing clown if you think Hagler in 87 was on the same level as Ali in 1980.

The guy is an unfunny troll who ties himself up in knots without even realising it.

He states that Ray wasn’t shot against Norris because of the success he’d been having.

Yet at the same time he says that Marvin was robbed.

So if Marvin had been robbed of victory, which saw Ray go on to have the success that he did, then by his own logic Marvin can’t have been shot.

All of this was vaguely amusing about 8 years ago. Vaguely amusing. But what’s funny about posting the same points 8 years later under a different account?

I feel bad for you because it’s your thread. And I get that you want to counter his points. But they’ve all been countered before, and most of what he writes he’s simply doing for a reaction.

    He deserves a ban.

He brings nothing to the table apart from his tired old act.

LOL. It would be nice if we could discuss these things honestly. Ali was done when he fought Holmes. Hagler was past it but far from done when he fought Leonard. If we we want to compare where Hagler was in his career when he fought Leonard to Ali he was the Ali of the Thrilla In Manila.

What's interesting is he contends that Marvin was ready for the rest home at 33 but Sugar Ray should be judged harshly for losing fights at 35 and 41. SMFH

    Mark Dunham is Red Rooster.

    He’s definitely a troll.

I think that No Neck is at least genuine.

Hoisted on your own petard. By your definition Tom Brady isn't the GOAT quarterback. Eli Manning is. He is undefeated in SuperBowls going 2-0 against Tom Brady. That being said, of course Brady is the GOAT quarterback because greatness is so much more than being undefeated.

Here’s 2 quick threads to look at.

Just have a quick look for:

    redrooster

This is how long we’ve had to put up with him hating on Ray and obsessing over Terry Norris:

One of the threads is 7 years old.

I'm glad you and Rooster agree with me that Marvin was far from done when he fought Sugar Ray Leonard and that an athlete has different stages in his or her career from novice to prime to post prime to done. It's elementary, really

still playing the pretend game I see

Funny how refusing to answer a question like "Why would Hagler retire if he was far from done?" would lead you to conclude that I actually agree with you
