This has become a battle for the last word. These never end well.

LOL, you’ll get no response. The dude is as mad as a cut snake.

This is MORE than simple. But then, so is Dunham.

My prior posts uphold the following:-

I linked the following article FIRST to illustrate Norris’ own awareness of Ray’s deteriorations (deteriorations which Dunham unrealistically denies) - the famous 3rd paragraph from the bottom - of course Ray is referencing the KDs in the Lalonde and Hearns fights - why is referencing them? - to say the younger Ray would never have got hit by the punches that floored him - Norris also goes on to say he doesn’t know if Ray can go 12 rds anymore - I mean, gee, it’s there in black and white:- Norris as quoted in the article verbatim: “When Ray was younger he could go 12 rounds. I don’t know about now”. I told Dunham before this isn’t rocket surgery.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/sports/1991/01/23/treading-leonards-turf-norris-serves-his-notice/f6f2b375-9544-4522-a2ab-162deccc2f1b/

Then I linked an article in which Ray described the sparring incident with Quincy Taylor. Dunham has always held that Ray was knocked out - he didn’t know any other details - not even the sparring partner’s name - he simply assumed knocked out on the canvas. I said NO, Ray was out on his feet but covered up the fact and saw out the rd. Dunham rejected that VERY description and replied NO, Ray was knocked out - so he himself agreed to the distinction between being out on one’s feet and being knocked out on the deck - he simply didn’t believe that Ray was just out on his feet as I previously told him and have never wavered from.

So I provided the article below, which states exactly as I already told Dunham - and instead of rejecting what I told him he NOW just says it’s the same as being knocked out - so he has blatantly switched horses.

The real clanger is: The 3rd paragraph from the bottom in the SECOND article I linked does refer to Hagler v Leonard - that’s what genius boy is referring to - Dunham has CLEARLY confused the articles that were provided separately and CAN’T even admit to it - thus it drags on - and actually, he can’t admit to anything at all I’ve noticed - thus it always drags on with him. LOL.

A uniform position and supporting facts in tow are what keep me on my feet. Crazy, isn’t it?

What you’ve written is LITERALLY irrational.

LOL, YOU read the paragraph from the WRONG article and can’t admit it.

Now you’re trying to pretend the pre Leonard fight Norris article doesn’t exist when it’s right there, linked, several times now. . You know you’re the only one inventing and being dishonest. Golf clap for that. AS IF I would be offended by anything you wrote - like I’d care enough?

I just indulge in fair debate, clearly something you’re not into. All facts are laid out in my reply to JT. Again, LOL.

Nah, not at all. It’s just that when you provide evidence as in a linked article and the other party claims, among other falsehoods, that you literally didn’t provide said article - well, that speaks for itself and begs response. All good, it’s a dead duck - I’ve thoroughly covered off - can’t make promises though - but there is a good chance the other one will keep quacking nonsense - keeping in line with his fowl means. Haha.

Practice, you talking about practice. I was reading an interview with Jody Ballard who along with Michael Dokes were Ali's sparring partner for the Evangelista fight. They had an exhibition fight and he caught Ali with a right and that Ali told him if it was a real fight he would have been in trouble. I tend to not give too much credence to these things. He also was in Big George's camp at one time. He did say Ali never tried to hurt his sparring partners while other fighters did. That speaks to his character.

Funny thing is Ballard lost a split decision to Evangelista in 78 but a faded Ali won a wide decision against him in 77.

Yes, credit to the fighters who don’t hurt their sparring partners unnecessarily. But Ali’s style permitted training without need to harm - particularly when he actually allowed his partners to pound on him. I guess it’s problematic for boxers accented on power - it may be unavoidable since they are training for KOs. I had an old Ring mag. that included an article on Shavers and his sparring partners.

They had a panel of photos of these guys post sparring with Earnie - Jesus, they were absolutely bloodied, bruised and battered. They looked as if they were criminals who had been run down and then beaten by an angry mob with baseball bats, iron bars etc. Couldn’t pay me enough for that job!

I see there has been suggestion that Jimmy Ellis KO’d Ali in sparring in the late 70s. I’ve actually found an article that contains reference to that alleged incident - I think I’ll post it on the sparring partner thread.

Let me preface my remarls by saying I respect Ellis because he was Ali's lifetime friend and sparring partner. Please post it. If it's true it shows not to put too much credence into practice /sparring and how faded Ali was by then because when they fought in 71 Ali put Ellis in a clown suit.

Yeah i used to spar with red 15 years ago - a lot. Wait until he trots out his personally taken photo of Hagler sparring the Weaver triplets used to show that he was not only in the crowd watching but knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hagler was shot going into the bout.

    Haha.

I like a fair debate, a bit of verbal sparring is okay too. I try to avoid getting snagged - better stuff to push through to and talk about. No question Marv wasn’t what he used to be - but that shouldn’t unduly negate the great performance Ray posted or have an older, deteriorated Ray v Norris not availed of the same considerations as a depleted Hags, which are not meant to take away from Norris’ own excellent performance v Ray.

you're blaming me for reading the wrong article? then you should have sent the proper article!

did I not tell you such an article does not exist?

I was right from the very start. you never had a leg to stand on

even John Thomas admitted to me he did not see it

HA ha, you dont have it!

but it's okay. i forgive you for your deliberate efforts to deceive. Others have done so in recent days

    i had one poster try to make me believe that a 36 - 3- 1 is somehow superior to a 50 - 0 record

the same poster attempting to con me that Hagler retired only because he was bored and didnt need money . physical decline not an issue! Talk about playing dumb!

it's almost as amusing as watching you try to explain that Leonard "wasn't really knocked out in a sparring session"

another poster in his frustration, put it this way 'I dont understand why getting knocked out in sparring matters"

so you're telling me that "being knocked out" is not the same as being "out cold"? yes or no/

can you, unlike the other three, give a straight answer?

    How embarrassing for you.

You STILL can’t admit that the relevant and correctly prefaced articles were provided and YOU read and referenced the paragraph from the wrong article. LOL. You’re in absolute denial desperately trying to save face.

JT did see it - JT referenced the KDs that NORRIS referred to - HOW could that be if it was only about Hagler - Leonard as you claimed? JT read the CORRECT paragraph. You didn’t. Keep digging your ever deepening hole.

You’ve brought nothing to the table except hot air and a wounded ego. You’re amounting to nothing more than a nonsensical troll.

Ray wasn’t knocked out in sparring as you tried to claim - and when you claimed it you provided NO article, NO quotes in support. It was just “something” you read, I told you previously Ray was out on his feet but rode it out - EXACTLY as per the quote I provided. You said NO, you didn’t believe that, you said you believed Ray was actually knocked out - you were WRONG - as the article proved. Awesome knowledge and research on your part, NOT. LOL,

QUOTE the paragraph YOU read and claim had nothing to do with Norris but was instead about Hagler Leonard.

QUOTE it. You’ve provided NOTHING to support yourself. See if you can now. Betcha you won’t. You’re too preoccupied with clowning it and trying to bury your errors and ignorance.

Now QUOTE it. No excuse not to. Let’s see what you’ve got.

John Thomas told me he did not see it either and the fact is, I read the entire article

you just wasted our time with your fictional account

I have lost confidence in you. You lack integrity

Not since a President named GW Bush have I seen such levels of deception; substituting the guilty named bin laden for Saddam with a perceived threat of nukes with a drawing just to get his way.

this is why I never became that big a fan of Ray Leonard. I dont have to go to such lengths to cover for him "I told you previously Ray was out on his feet but RODE IT OUT "

Sure he did! It's a shame you lack Leonard's honesty as NOWHERE did he ever say he rode it out!

JT tried to corner me asking "did the ref count to ten?"

I suppose that if Ray fell to the canvas that the thud from striking the floor would have woke him up. And then, Ray with a vengeance, would have gone right after Quincy. After all, where there's a Sugar Ray, there's got to be a way! (as long as the opponent isnt Hector Camacho or Terry Norris)
