On Pryor ducked maybe a little strong but I think fighting Pryor was to higher risk with to little to gain on the money front for Leonard to be interested in

That is a fair post. Leonard is one of my all time favourite fighters, but did like to have it to suit himself, like how he got Lalonde to boil down to SMW, the fight with Hagler made from 15 to 12 rounds, I seem to think that I read that the ring size was to his liking, but could be wrong, but with all this, there is no mistaking Leonard was a great fighter.
Benn was dangerous and not worth the risk. Leonards legacy was very important to him and Benn could have been very damaging for him.

I think prime Leonard would have taken the chance, but the Leonard in his 30s I think was looking for the best legacy fights and Benn would most likely have blasted Leonard out.

Yes it appears that Leonard didnt want to fight Benn, but it shouldnt harm his career.

Prime leonard? are u serious? Prime leonard was at WELTERWEIGHT!!! MY GOODNESS!! Listen in that time after benn beat barkley, leonard was already far past his prime. That was easily not leonard best 160 pound weight. Anybody that follow boxing knows this.

I don't think Ray wanted to fight either Benn or Barkley. He just wanted to fight his old friends and legends. Benn or Barkley could have been a tough fight.

this can't be a serious thread.

Leonard fought, and beat, Duran, Benitez, Hearns and Hagler. there was no fear of Benn :patsch

By then Ray was just a sideshow bringing attention to the newly created SMW division.

Leonard outside of the welterweight class was very over rated.

Leonard offered Pryor a career high of half a mil but Pryor wanted more.

Forgive these buffoons! Nobody dictated to ray leonard. Thats, the bottom line from the begiining of his career, to the end of it.
