Thats not an excuse, in fact it shows another weakness in SRL. He was mentally weak against Duran. SRL tried to stand toe to toe, but after that didnt work, he should have found a way to win. So is his pride a weakness as well? The fact that he refused to change gameplans, might prove so. But I dont think so, I just dont think he was smart enough to change gameplans midfight. He trained to fight one way, and wasnt perceptive enough to change his attack in the first fight. As far as pacman. I was referring to how people overrate SRL's offense. He threw just as many punches as anyone else. Nothing special about his offense. When I see prime pac, at ww, I look at THAT as AMAZING offense. I think Pac's offense alone sets him apart from SRL. His offense was so good that it outshines SRL's whole arsenal. Floyd on the other hand is much more complete than SRL. Floyd is THE most complete fighter in history. He has impeccable defense, and his offense is just these spontaneous counterpunches that he lets off instinctively off impulses, as he avoids shots. Pac's offense makes him better than SRL. SRL is ordinary in comparison. Pac is like a machine. Floyd's overall boxing education, makes him waaaay more advanced than SRL. He has the offense, defense, brains, education, patience. You cant get in his head like little Duran got in SRL's. Its just no comparison. We are watching flatcreen tv's in color. Back then they were mostly watching big bulky black and white tv's.
