The book 'Four Kings', which traces the careers and fights between SRL, Hearns, Hagler & Duran, there's a good story about Sugar Ray. Apparently Ray had a commitment the following day involving an appearance at a grand slam tennis tournament which included a business meetings with some important TV execs. The night went far too long and included all sorts of indulgences. In the morning a severely under-the-weather Ray decided to give his 2 tickets to the prostitutes who'd spent the night there. The pros went to the tennis (dressed like pros) and met up with the TV execs, who weren't the least bit impressed. It's believed to have cost Ray his gig on that network.
haha i am keen to ask him the hearns question i just talked to the girl organising it that got us the tickets... she said that for about 15 minutes at a time he will be sitting at every table to have a chat to people.... as there is only 8 on our table and no boxing fans i plan to take that whole 15 minutes hhahahaha hopefully will be able to have a beer with one of my idols, then its just ali, tyson and my life is complete
