Ridiculous post. You obviously have animosity against Leonard which clouds your reasoning.

He beat Duran convincingly in a rematch and the Norris and Camacho losses were when he was way past it.

Wins over Benitez, Duran, and, especially, a prime Hearns are gold stars on his resume despite any excuses you can concoct for the losers. The win over Hagler is a very good win, but not as notewory as the ones just mentioned, because Hagler, was, indeed, not in his prime.

You try to contextualize his biggest wins to suit your agenda, but, then, you don't put his losses to Norris and Camacho in proper context.

Losing a close decision to an inspired Duran in a great fight is only a minor stain. Full credit to both guys for a memorable, great fight.

That said, getting back to the actual thread question - No, Ray's upset over Hagler does not make him a great middleweight. If he had beaten Prime Hagler, in, say, 1982, such a win would have made him a great middleweight.

More typical double standards garbage from you, but then it is only to be expected.

How come rematches are important to you if one of your heroes wins one, but not worth a cup of cold p.i.s.s if it is say Lennox Lewis that wins them?:roll:

The rest of your post is the usual moralising, fanboy, horse shyte, and not worthy of reply.

The more I watch the whole circus around this fight, the more I believe it was fixed. ****t looked like a glorified sparring match.

Firstly, Leonard is not my hero. I don't don't get in to that 'us v. them' juvenile stuff.

Secondly, You have no leg to stand on pontificating about arguments regarding rematches. Have you forgotten your inane blanket statement, "Rematches Don't matter" when rationalizing Duran's loss to Leonard, after arguing the importance of Lennox's rematch win over McCall. You are guilty of what you accuse me of.

    Nonsense.

I don't claim Lewis's win over McCall was important at all. I said it was not Lewis's fault they dragged the guy out of rehab. If it has any significance it is only in the context of him beating EVERY man he EVER faced. I still believe in the statement of " rematches don't count " BUT in the circumstances surrounding this stoppage, you could say a rematch was justified, ( though personally I don't think Lennox would have lasted the rest of the 2nd round with just over 2 minutes left of it to go )

I am also the first to criticise Lewis for his fanboyism towards pathetic Hollywood film stars, instead of treating Rahman with enough respect to train properly for their first fight, and you will never hear me trumpeting about the rematch for that very reason.

As for your cr ap about Leonard being past it? Do you think Duran was " prime " aged 45, and 50 when he fought Camacho?

He didn't get fukked in 5 rounds though did he?
