With regard to the top 2, I think JOnes is better H2H, but SRL's wins over Hearns, Hagler and Duran trump what little advantage Jones has over him H2H.

 

Sugar Ray Leonard has WITHOUT QUESTION achieved more than Floyd Mayweather Jr and that's all there is too it.

They are equal in titles, but that's where it ends. Mayweather has beaten De La Hoya, Castillo (2), Corrales, and Hernandez. Hardly comparable to Duran (2), Hearns, Hagler, and Benitez.

Floyd has never been the undisputed champion at any weight class. Leonard was at 147 by TKOing Thomas Hearns. I'm straying away from accomplishments on this next point, but Mayweather would have been dominated by Hearns.

Titles are great, but the overall level of competition that one has beaten means more.

your not giving him credit for fights in his lower weights where he stood in the pocket very often and i guess "slugged" it out.

Secondly Floyd doesnt have the Durans Hearns or Haglers...no one this day and age compares and still all he has to really fight now is Hatton Cotto and PW....after that i mean what else can he do.

Third floyd has all the same skills as all of them and he is even more technical then probally all of them Defense only one comes close Pernell. Speed on the same level as all of them power at his lower weights not 147 154 maybe not even 140 but 130 135 where he started and bests weights probally have to recognize his power.

Winning belts even though irrelevant because of the amout of them today he still WON and out classed all except two fights out of 38. 130 to 154...that is a feat unprecidented my man....thats not easy at all and his opponents although not great are still very solid and right now he still has time to fight Cotto, PW and Hatton.

its hard to rate them and im not saying your rating was wrong but you outright bashed Floyd who deservedly belongs at ANY of those spots but 1. Plus Floyd is an ATG especially after Hatton fight.

if you did a power ranking based on points or a weighted average all four would rate very close and in some instances it would be a tie. floyd is still fighting but I don't tink he will ever have the resume of a sugar ray leonard. even beating hatton, cotto or williams/cintron winner wouldn't be enough in my eyes to pass ray in that category.

as it relates to achievements floyd won 5 titles faster then any fighter in modern history and he did it while remaining undefeated. so that achievement cannot be matched by roy, pernell, or leonard.

the skill category is subjective as all four where masters of their craft.

different styles of defense though....P would slip duck lighting quick moving away from punches sort of unconventional

Floyd is more conventional with his guard parrying and absorbing the blows i dont think you can compare the two because its different styles i dont think Floyd's is any better than P's i worded that wrong in my last post.

 

then why was he knocked down in his prime. ray,roy, and floyd where never knocked down in their primes.

 

They are close. Pernell's defense was more impressive. Floyd's defense was more complete. Both are better than Ray Leonard and Roy Jones in that aspect.

 

Roy was knocked down by Lou Del Valle, but that's besides the point.

David Tua has never been knocked down as a professional fighter, does that mean he was better defensively than Wright, Hopkins, and Whitaker? No...it has to do with the chin.

I think from a skill standpoint. RJ is the most skilled out of all of them. Despite what people sy that he is just unorthodox, but if you think about it, in order to box like that your fundamental skills must be at another level. 4 him to be able to throw 5 and 6 punch cominations and land them with ease, has to show that he is fundamentally sound enough 2 put that 2gether.
Its like watching Hot Sauce on and 1. People saying he cant be a real point guard b/c all he does is dance etc. But in order 4 him 2 do all that dancing etc. He must know how to dribble with both hands already and protect the ball etc. See what im saying. Just b/c RJ makes his fights more exciting and he might dot hings out of the ordinary, doesnt make him any less technically sound than FLoyd or Pernell or SRL
