One of the hardest decisions Ive ever had to make on here was placing those four tremendously gifted fighters in order. However, I can't see past Whitaker for sheer skill. Jones was without question the fastest of them all.

 

and that's all we can ask fighters in our generation to do:deal roy fought the best of his time. Defeating 15 former world champions with 22 title defenses conn and foster never did that:deal

a natural 160 fighter challenging a 230lb heavyweight. how often does this happen:deal

roy was dominant for 15 years 1988-2004, I fail to see the case you are trying to make.:hat

 

A slumbering slow 230 marginal talent HW....please don't even try to make Ruiz better than what he really was taylor made for RJJ...

RJJ Dominant?... fighting chumps for 10 years, RJJ fought one heavy weight on his carrer, Foster fought five tough HW of his time...more fough at least 4 ..so RJJ fought one mediocre HW....WTF...who cares..historic ..absolutely no!!

Sugar Ray Leonard.
Pernell Whitaker
RJJ
Mayweather.

The first three are close and interchangeable.

Mayweather doesnt belong in there.

Only SRL excites me when he was fighting. All the rest bore me to death, most especially RJJR and Whitaker. They are both worse than PBF during their primes.

Cant believe how people think jones and floyd are in the same league overall as SRL and whitaker who beat real fighters and didnt duck challenges....

I base this on actual boxing pedigree and not athleticism. While Ray Leonard had great combinations his defense wasn't nearly as good as Pernell or Floyd. Roy Jones rarely if ever threw a jab or showed the ability to fight on the inside.

Ray Leonard arguably had the biggest wins but his accomplishments were not as unique when compared to Roy or Floyd.

 

Surely that's almost a complete irrelevance!
