Prior to the decision, I knew Hearns had the slight edge; but the draw is what I felt would happen and it was rendered.... Leonard had BIG rds in the 5th and 12th.... I agree with several folks, there.... In 1989, the 12 rd. limit BACK-FIRED on Leonard..... I think SRL would've stopped Hearns again, had the bout been a 15 rounder.... Hearns was finished after 12, While Leonard was coming on...

Yea, Leonard was close to KO'ing him in the 12th. Imagine if he pulled the miracle again? Wow.

Absolutely. But when it's all said and done, they were only 10-9 rounds.

Hearns won by 2 or 3 points.

I have an interview with Leonard (pre Norris) where he states; "Tommy and I are 1-1"

Case closed and I'm a huge Sugar Ray fan.

If I recall my scorecard, I had Hearns winning the fight, but not winning all of the rounds.

The knockdowns edged him. Close fight.

I thought their first fight was wildly overrated.I believe Hearns-Leonard 2 had more consistent action plus you had the sensation of Leonard twice being floored.Overall Hearns-Leonard 2 is better than the original in my opinion.

I agree. However, the ending to Leonard-Hearns I is one of the greatest endings of all time IMO.
