And this happens on which planet? Because it certainly wouldn't be Earth.

Beating two bob fighters like Kalule, Finch, and Howard, PLUS a faded Hagler, a very old Duran, and catch weights with Lalonde and Hearns, does NOT equate to being able to beat a prime 154 Norris, I'm afraid.

SRL in his prime was a bit smaller than Norris in his prime imo, so right there it is a little unfair,,,,,,,

but I would pick SRL in a close UD prime for prime,,,,

he was slowing down by the time he fought Norris.

those fans are a joke. they see him beat up on a stationary guy with zero mobility and a 20-4 record, get decked, then retire for another 3 years and they somehow think that translates to a win over every possible opponent

In Kalule, he was just a punching bag with an inflated record

    another Dona Lalonde

another setup waiting to have his title lifted

we saw what happened when he tried lifting Terry's title

Sugar Ray had his head lifted by TN's uppercut

That's the difference between opponents with class and opponents with no class (lalonde, Howard, Kalule, Green, Price, Finch, etc etc etc)

    opponents with speed

    and opponents with no speed

It's the difference between a split win for Leonard

and a 120-106 loss for leonard

I dont know why they can just accept Terry's supremacy over him

120 - 108 to Norris on all 3 cards. No version of Leonard could ever handle the speed of Norris, despite what his silly fanboys think.

Only men with agenda's think Leonard of 91 was anywhere close to the greatness he clearly showed against 3 of the top ten welters in history he defeated between 79 and 81. If we go on that premise SRR was defeated by J.Archer and someone by the name of Stan Harrington twice. It should be held against him. How about Ali losing to Spinks?Berbick? Louis beaten Charles? Decimated by Marciano? R.Jones jr. defeated by the great Marcellani? D.Green. How about the greatest of all time according to you two (Red AND Foxy) T.Norris? Stopped by someone named Boudani? a Rosenblatt? And how bout that lost to K.Mullings? What happened to his superior hand speed then? One thing that can be said about Leonard is he was never stopped or close to being stopped in his prime. Even though he faced the most fearsome puncher in welter history. Can you two haters say the same about Norris. How about his (02) d.q losses to Santana? What's your excuse for that? (06) of his losses were in his PRIME including the D.q's. Look no one here is saying you got to like Leonard personally. I personally didn't like Mayweather jr. But I'm objective enough to say he has dominated this era of boxing. (Though I will always say he was more of a business man then fighter). If you two men showed any objectivity you would be more respected. But you two sound like two little boys who don't like someone, and gets mad at your friends because they happen to disagree with you. Anyone can twist a fighters record and make it appear what they want it be. Hell Eric Esch could be better then Ali. He had more wins.....

Ray was a different animal. And the fight would be competitive while it lasts, but once Ray really asserts himself, it's a wrap. On Planet Earth.

stop being a poor sport-troll just because your hero's scorecard read 106 to Terry's 120

and failed to produce so much as one knockdown of terry

vs Terry's two knockdowns of Ray

nor able to wobble Terry once

vs the 20 wobbles Terry got out of Ray

My man will always win this fight because altho Ray had a masters in speed (which was a lot in those days), Terry had a PHD

and you know how PHD's treat those with a masters

    120-106

How is he a different animal if it took him 11 rounds just for someone named Larry Bonds, nine for Howard

That knockdown of Leonard must really inspire confidence!

Not to mention the way he retired another three years after that fight

Think of what he would have done to Terry that night! Probably broken his ribs provided Terry sign a contract not to move

From looking at the Hearns fight, after watching Ray clumsily fire one haymaker after another, I knew it was just a matter of time before his luck ran out and met a smart, fast, mover that would expose him for what he is

    competitive? Hell no

But as we saw in their fight, he would try

I think the 80-82 version of Ray beats Terry, any other version after that time I may favor Terry, especially after the version of Ray that beat Hagler.

only men with agendas would label a man with 6 fights at 147 as one of the top ten welters of all time

Only men with agendas would label Benitez, who had just won the title as one of the top ten welters

Only men with agendas would ditto - label Hearns a top ten welter with just a WBA paper title and 3 defenses

I dont remember anyone naming Randy Shields, Pablo Baez, and Luis Primera, as stiff competition

I hate to tell you this but what you're talking about is PERCEIVED greatness that made an impression on you as a kid growing up

You simply cant accept the fact that there are boxers like Terry who have the talent to expose Leonard's weakness as a fighter

and I have noted that you cannot say HOW Ray is going to get Terry to cooperate with him so as to stand stock still and allow Ray to knock him out

    It's called BOXING, remember?

all this other garbage about the way Norris dq'd himself against other opponents, has nothing to do with Norris - srl; it simply highlights your inability to give a how to/strategy/fight plan as to how Leonard would catch up with Terry's fast feet/evasiveness/defensive-offensive techiniques and produce a knockout in time

Your sorrowful explanations have nothing to do with what is likely to happen in the fight

everything that WOULD HAVE happened, ALREADY happened

you mean the one that took 11 to cut down Bonds in unimpressive fashion? The one in which his cornerman told him "you do realize you've got a stiff in front of you"

Followed by his next fight in which the same corner man told him "you're blowing it kid!"

    That one?

it seems you have a bit of misplaced loyalty

Until I actually SEE Ray cut down a Terry Norris or Micheal Nunn, Ray will always come across as a near great who had his limitations exposed by the few quick thinking boxers he met (Norris, Camacho)

I'm sorry but it's just the way he lost those fights that really bug me
