Leonard might win if he boxes clever and uses his speed and doesn't get too feisty. Canelo punches damn hard, he doesn't want to exchange with him. Then again, I saw Golovkin beat Canelo twice and get zero wins so Leonard might be SOL here because he's not knocking ginger out.

Canelo has slow feet I think Leonard's superior movement and speed would be the difference.

    Leonard by UD.

Yeah but remember Leonard was a superstar aswell and had some decisions go his way so I think Leonard could win a decision against Canelo.

If that's your criterion Ray was the most marketable boxer since Ali.

Can you imagine the purses with a peak Leonard today? I would argue he was infinitely more marketable than Floyd and Pac.

Leonard's style is all wrong for Canelo. Leonard UD.

Oh yes! The purses would skyrocket and Ray was definitely more marketable than Pac and Floyd, just as you say.

Leonard outboxes Canelo to a pretty clear UD. Ray's all round skillset offsets anything Canelo brings to the table.

I'd argue Mike Tyson might have been more marketable than Sugar Ray, but it's close.

I hate Canelo. But at 160, SRL would have to campaign there for a couple years before this fight. Canelo much stronger than a fading Hagler, and SRL must use his hand speed lateral movement and footwork to outpoint him and stay outside. If SRL falls in love with his power up here in weight, the bigger stronger Canelo will knock him out. not a CW fight btw, this is a true MW fight

    Canelo KO 14

I would favour Canelo at that particular weight.

    Isn’t a 160lb catchweight an oxymoron?

I would favour SRL by decision.
