I don't know if I agree with this.. First, Floyd didn't fight anyone near a SRL .. And SRL had much more competition in his era with the fab 4 alone.. I don't think Floyd has that power you are talking about to stall SRL .. and I think SRL had great movement as seen in the Hagler fight where his movement confused Hagler ..imo.. SRL wins this but it is more challenging for him than it would be for The Motor City Cobra against Floyd

Leonard wins, he has every physical advantage here - bigger, stronger, hits much harder.

The best Leonard beats the best Mayweather. Leonard would pick Floyd to pieces.

Leonard was in his prime at 147. Floyd Mayweather was probably at his best at 130. At Welterweight I think Ray is too big and too fast for FMJ. He would press the fight and make Floyd fight when he doesn't want to. 3 minutes of every round. I'm sure Ray would miss some shots but he threw those blinding combinations. Mayweather cant slip them all.

    Leonard by stoppage in 11

Ray had the speed, and he would beat Floyd decisively.

Leonard by clear UD. A stoppage isn't out of the question due to Leonard being a very good puncher (especially with his left hook) at 147 and one of the best finishers ever, but I give Floyd the benefit of the doubt and say he lasts the distance. He still would be extremely difficult for even someone as great as Leonard to hit consistently.

I rate Floyd very highly H2H from 130-140. At 147, not so much, and this isn't going against merely a good champion, or a very good champion. Leonard from 1979-82 was amazing, one of the best fighters ever seen. He was bigger and better than Floyd.

Oh god Leonard would beat Mayweather bad. It would look like his fathers fight vs Ray except he'd have some moments against Leonard.

SRL destroys May by decision or by TKO... Easy fight to pick

Yes, he could beat Mayweather jr.

But it would be much more competitive and would go the distance.

Sugar Ray would need to impose his natural size and strength advantage.

He must work the body in the early rounds and get Floyd to fight off the ropes.

I think he could employ his advantages in size, strength, power and superior work rate to decision Floyd over the distance.

Floyd is only better, arguably in defense. Sugar Ray is equal or better in everything else.

Mayweather Jr. NEVER , Fought, or could fight the way Duran fought in Montreal. When has May Jr. Ever pressed an attack from rd#1 On? Not even when he fought at his best weight at jr.light. Too completely different style fighters. Plus, Duran was successful all the way up to middle. Meaning the exploits at welter wasn't a fluke.

I'm not talking about Duran. That version of Leonard could've walked into lead right hands and right hand counters from Mayweather. He was also telegraphing his right hand so Mayweather might have taken thar away from him. Leonard was also fighting agressively in straight lines during that fight which would've played into Mayweather's hands.

After he gained more experience as a champion, Leonard would've been able to have more success basically by fighting with the gameplan he used for Benitez. But, i still think Mayweather would be harder to beat than Wilfred.

I'd pick Ray Leonard to win too but I think it would be a close competitive fight.
