I know it's been done before but I recently watched Mayweather against Castillo and I noticed that Castillo had success with his jab. Leonard had a really accurate jab and could fight on the front foot like Castillo. The jab and educated pressure, coupled with Leonard's power and accuracy would sway it for him in my opinion. And I never liked Leonard at all!
Ray did display a nice jab when he needed too like in the short lived bout with Andy Price but I don't see it being a factor in this bout which might be similar to Ray's fight with Benitez. Floyd would block and slip many of Ray's shots and catch Leonard on an even basis but the fight would be decided by Ray's ko punch in both hands and ability to put away those he had hurt. Ray wouldn't leave Floyd untouched like Mosley did when he tagged him with several big right hands and the onslaughts would either stop Mayweather or lead to a clear dec. win.
Leonard by a convincing margin. To be fair, Floyd is the naturally smaller fighter. Size being equal, it's pretty competitive and Leonard wins a decision. Floyd is indeed a terrific fighter.
My answer is still the same as it's been on the last 8-9 threads on this topic. Leonard wins, either by decision or TKO, likely TKO.
Can't stand either one of these guy's 1 is too damn ****y, ( Ray )and the other is an egomaniacal sociopath (May) , that being said Leonard is too big and powerful for Mayweather, i see Ray winning a very comfortable DECISION... I think Duran and Mayweather would be a more competitive match...
Why you compare LW to one of the greatest WW's ever? :think why we usually compare Floyd against Leonard,Hearns etc.. Why we don't compare Leonard,Hearns etc.. Against great MW's more often. Floyd prime was WW,Leonard WW.sizegap is too big, skillwise they are pretty close
Because,,,he has long not been a lightweight and is the welterweight world champion, has fought and beat junior middleweights, and his body weight is constantly in the welter range between bouts.
The same as JMM did, but within 3 rounds at the most. He would time him lunging in off balance, and nail him with one big shot from EITHER hand, and the ref could keep counting until the next morning and Pac ain't getting up.
