You said "alround arsenal", by which is typically meant "punching arsenal". Since the main difference between them in this regard is Leonard's superior jab Jones is not superior here. Size and power are abilities, not part of an arsenal, I'd say.

Besides fighting his share of bums, Roy completely outclassed Toney, beat Hopkins with an injured hand, KO'd Hill with one punch, blew Griffin out in one round, outpointed a natural heavyweight who, besides being a paper champ, was easily top 5 HW at the time.

None of these things Leonard would be capable of. He would have a hard time with Hopkins, Toney, Hill and get crushed by a decent HW. His greates wins are Duran, Hearns, Hagler. Roy destroy Duran early if he wants to, KO's Hearns, beats the 1987 version of Hagler more convincingly than Leonard.

Yeah. I can't really see the point of this thread. A great 168 lbs fighter against a great 147 lbs fighter. There can only be one outcome.

To answer your earlier post, I understand that in there primes there was a weight difference but Leonard made a career out of defying the odds. The point in weight that I was making was that Jones was at one point fighting at 154, and leonard looked pretty darn good against Hagler at middleweight so what I am saying is lets assume these guys were in there "Primes" and the attraction and MONEY that this fight would have made them that Jones decides to come down a little and Ray decides to come up a little and they meet somewhere in the middle hence the term "CATCHWEIGHT" I think all things considered if you drop Jones into an era with Leonard I know Ray would welcome the challenge of going after Jones, Leonard was a pitbull and he would fight anyone!

Jones has never boxed anyone quite as good as SRL, however SRL has wins over guys who are better than Jones.

Toney and B Hop are not as impressive as Duran or Hearns.

Its a good fight. In a P4P fantasy SRL beats Jones on points probably every time. In the real world Jones is too big and great enough to get a stoppage.

In my opinion SRL's best wins when prime are more impressive than Jones'. Jone's fought a lot of stiffs, but did show his greatness in his most competetive bouts.

I also think SRL's hand picked historic wins up the weights are slightly more impresive than Jones HW win over Ruiz. SRL also knew when to quit. Jones has suffered some awful KO losses since coming back down.

It's close and probably a thriller, but P4P I favor SRL every time.

Yeah, P4P Jones could hold his own with Leonard and make it a great, close fight.
