I don't think its wise to assume Leonard was faster than Robinson. All of the film we have of SRR is at 160lbs post 30 years old. As a middlweight he looked blazing fast against Turpin their rematch.

My guess is their speed would be about even and probably cancel each other out. Power? Well that goes to Robinson by a good margin. He has legit one punch power in either hand.

I do think Leonard fought inside a little better. Robinson appears to be a superior athlete in terms of agility, range and his footwork was effortless. The way he knocked Dykes down when he was floating backwards was what the oldtimers told us. They wern't lying. I dont think anyone else could do that.

Robinson fought and beat alot of tough middleweights when he was a skinny welterweight. Why do you think he was fighting 160lbers? Most Welters were scared of getting their heads torn off. He had to agree to carry guys at 147 occasionally to stay busy.

Duran could trouble Robinson with his own unique talent. Sugar Ray could possibly knock Montreal Duran out if he catches him with one of those lefthooks square. It would be dangerous tearing at Robinson like that in that weight class.

Overall i would go with Robinson to beat Duran and Leonard. I dont know that i would bet it though. Its elite level so anything is possible.

Great post. Only thing I disagree with is the agility and footwork part.

There was an interesting story about Thomas Hearns that you might like.
When Hearns first started boxing he was nothing special and Steward didn't think too much of him.
So there was this other boxer in the gym that Hearns would often spar and always Hearns would end up getting beaten up. But Hearns would always comeback and spar him again.
So one day they are sparring and Steward is watching and Hearns back is to the ropes and he is getting beaten up. Hearns lashes out with a single right hand and knocks the other boxer out cold.
It was at this moment Steward begun to realize maybe he had something in Hearns.
