I've just seen the Hagler v Calzaghe poll score. I am in shock. I'm not even kidding with this poll. Some people on here honestly will believe Joe could do it.

What is happening to this place?????

It's really not that unlikely that Calzaghe would UD Hagler at all.

I don't see what the problem is here :huh

While unlikely, it's not inconceivable that Joe beats Hagler. He's naturally bigger, better handspeed, amazingly adaptable, good chin, great work rate and stamina, good footwork and ring generalmanship.

In what fight of Joe Calzaghe's career did you see qualities that you think would allow him to beat Marvin Hagler? Which fight? Think of Marvin Hagler at his absolute peak. Could that Joe Calzaghe live with him? Honestly?

Joe Calzaghe never fought anyone anywhere near as good as Marvin Hagler did he?

What are you talking about? He fought Mikkel Kessler. Calzaghe would stop Hagler and would also stop the tag team of Ali and Robinson. If he fattened himself up, he could beat Wlad. Once Pavlik wins 5 to 8 belts, he'll knock him out as well.

No he never but Calzaghe always rises to the occasion and normally fights to the level of his opponent.

There is no inidcation that Hagler would be the same at 168 against a big super middle with a good chin like Calzaghe. Calzaghe would frustrate the hell out of Hagler.

Calzaghe UD all day long unless he gets careless.

If you think Calzaghe is capable of fighting to the level of peak Marvin Hagler, then fair enough. Can I ask you, what if Calzaghe fought peak Roy Jones, peak Carlos Monzon, or peak Michael Spinks? Would he fight to the level of his opponent then too?
