Yes, at 168 Joe wins with ease.

'All the other fools'?? Sunshine, you're the biggest fool here....by some margin too.

Reading this thread, it is reassuring to see that there are at least one or two great historians on this forum who have scoured BoxRec and Youtube to tell us how a particular fighter from today's era could not possibly live with a fighter from a previous generation. This is a fairly good piece of analysis too:

How could anyone favour Calslappy over Sugar Ray AND Ali?

He'd slapp SRR so hard that he'll fall out the ring, and then he'll do the same to Ali

Well I guess if Joe could knock Robinson out early and make the later rounds just himself against Ali he'd have a shot..lol

I actually think it isn't inconceivable as Hagler never fought about MW and was only 5'8, we've never seen Calzaghe 'beaten' and he has fast hands.

I rate Hagler in my top 10 of all time but it isn't completely crazy to assume Calzaghe would win at a weight we've never seen Marv fight at.

Silly fight anyway, I don't like discussing fights where one fighter has never been seen at the weight.

Duran is my alltime second favourite fighter after Ali, but no version of Duran would have a serious prayer against a prime Calzaghe at the 168 mark.

Regarding Hagler, I would pick Calzaghe here too, although Hagler has a much better chance of pulling it off than Duran.

Hagler stepped into the ring around 162-165 (same day weigh-ins). Calzaghe stepped in at around 180, more than a stone heavier.

Hagler never showed any inclination to move up.

Hagler-Spinks was mentioned frequently mentioned in the mid eighties, and Hagler never considered the notion.

(Spinks at Lt heavy with same day weigh-in was the same weight on fight nights as Calzaghe at SMW with previous day weigh-in.)

Now I rank Spinks higher than Calzaghe and would pick him over Calzaghe h-to-h, but not by a huge amount.

Calzaghe beat a better version of Hopkins than Roy did.

IF, Hagler were to win here, it would be IMO an upset, and the best win of his career.
