Sugar Ray fought the fights that paid him what he was worth.

    So does Floyd.

floyd has, and when they were champion not just a contender like manny does. lets go through his fights.

margarito catchweight for a man who fought 2 fights in two years banned for illegal handwraps. PLASTER! killed himself to make 151 while manny come in at 144!:-(
clottey who just came off a lost to cotto, who never won a big fight except Judah when it was stopped by a headbutt.

Cotto catchweight where the champion had to come down to defend his own title at a catchweight 145? since when has that happened? notice after that fight cotto went str8 up to jr. middle. making that weight was killing him.

hatton was busted up and done as Lazano showed you in his first fight back from the mayweather beating that hatton was done. a he won a paper IBA or IBO title and they count that as a world title?:-(

i can do this for days man but i will stop here

    ?
so fighting pacquiao is not worth the money for Floyd? Getting the biggest payday of his career, and potentially the biggest money fight of all time?

Everybody can do anything for days.
Its easier for me to argue that Pacquiao's quality of opposition is better than Floyds throughout their respective careers. But i wont do that because thats not what im arguing about.

SRR fought everybody (except for a few exceptions like Burley). SRR was known to be very harsh in terms of the contracts, if it didnt go his way he wouldnt fight, but in the end when things were compromised, he fought them all. Floyd will always be known for ducking certain fighters "famously"

Ok he fought often. dilute his record i dont mind, but the fighters he faced at a consistent basis was far better than Floyds. And have I mentioned the risks that SRR took? Going to LHW, regaining MW title multiple times, facing tougher bigger opposition etc..

You have to remember that back in Rays day there was only one champ per division and only 8 divisions. A multi belt titleholder today isn't accomplishing as much as a guy who one multiple titles back in the day.

  11. LOL What does Pacquiao have to do with the comparison between Robinson and Mayweather??

You are a compulsive hater, as there was no reason to bring Manny into this thread lmao :deal

Very few of todays Champion can match up to the Champs of back then because of this fact you stated. It's just too watered down now days. Ray Robinson is above Floyd, I'm not hating ( like many will automaticly call it that) it's just my worthless little opinion. But hey Floyds career ain't over yet, he can still take out Manny (who's boxing career is riddled with astriks) and take on Martinez. :good

ONCE again it was a different era the man fought 5 fights in 29 days Ray did trust me i know more about him than you do. you still cant compare. any guy from that era could beat everybody in every division of today. you just cant tell, we have become decadent, weak over the years we have all this tech and we still complain. they had nothing but ppl to entertain them. if you lose you cell phone for a day you would go crazy.
