are you kidding me ray robinson was gigantic 5'11 and picking on little 5'6 - 5'8 italians that could not cut weight properly. He ran into a man roughly his size and got beat up thats what happened.

Why are you using the word Italian though? Is it because Ray beat a lot of small Italians and you feel an Italian Ray`s size would always beat him?! That`s taking nationalism a bit far.

joey maxim was italian you moron. Ray robinsons entire career was based off him beating up smaller men (of every nationality). Being a near 6ft tall welter back when welters were very small and didn't cut much weight.

I think you`re being harsh but you do have a point, I just thought you were suggesting something about Italians because a lot of Americans are obsessed with nationality and race, my fault sorry x

Ray was 144 at his WW peak... That's a small WW. He was tall and lanky, so was Tommy Hearns. Robinson was a WW fighting MWs and in this case a LHW. Of course he was smaller.

Hym he got beat up? You clearly haven't watched this fight. He passed out from heat exhaustion in a fight he was winning.

Go and watch it. He was up by 7 points on one of the cards... yeah it was hot for Maxim, hence why I haven't said Robinson was robbed or the whatever the Robi fanboys spout. I'm just telling you the facts. No-one ever beat a prime Robinson up.

Yes and Hearns looked far stronger at light heavy than Ray did, his body looked thick and strong and defined v Andries.

At the time of the stoppage, Robinson led by scores of 10-3, 9-3-1 and 7-3-3. Robinson is so far ahead on points. A KO be the only thing that would save Maxims title. And Maxim was no KO artist.
