Alright so how many other fights did they fight injured. With the wars and brutality in the sport back then you can imagine every 5 or so fights you are gonna have some sort of injury going into your next fight.

Unfortunately, in boxing, that hasn't really been the case.

This era of boxing is one of the worst imo.

You have guys like Paul Williams, Antonio Margarito and Sergio Martinez in the P4P list, where in the 90's and 80's would have been soild B level fighters at best.

besides the FACT that I added an "imo", I'd like to see what your views on todays top fighters are.

I'd like to debate you on which era is better, todays or the 90's.

I understand and agree with what you said, but you have to also put those eras and this era in prespective. Back in the day boxing was a huge sport. Boxing is basically a underground sport now makes it even harder with MMA in the picure.

But me I don't give a damn. As long as there are great fights then I am happy.

I watched Hagler's career this past few weeks. Not the whole thing, but a good twenty five or more fights. First off, his middleweight era seems very very very strong. Those guys move quickly, absorb punishment, and have a lot of fights. There were no sluggish out of shape guys who just trump around the ring. his decision losses early were pretty ridiculous.

He was good coming forward, was good going backwards, counterpunched, knocked people out, never ever ever got rocked except maybe by Mugabi, and once he made up his mind it was time to KO, wow.

I don't think this current middleweight era is as fit, they look a lot slower and more sluggish, I think the peak of boxing came in the 80s when it was still a mainstream sport that attracted world class athletes who could go 15 rounds. However, I think the skills of a Pretty boy are a natural outgrowth of all that boxing evolution, a prodigy of defense and precise offense that makes a case that humanity is not going backwards. I don't see anything from Robinson to mimic the ring smarts of Hagler, who could also hit, go forward, go back, knock people silly, and had an iron chin. Do I think Hagler was the GOAT? Well, I don't think he is QUITE fast enough for that designation, nor did he ever face size disadvantages like Duran, Leonard, and Pacman, but I don't think from what I have seen of Robinson he is any better than Hagler.
