Who do you rate higher Sugar Ray Robinson or Sugar Ray Leonard? A lot of people say that Robinson is the pound for pound GOAT, but for some reason, I think Leonard is overall better. What's your opinion?

I think Robinson’s longevity and significantly deeper list of ranked opposition is what decides it for myself as well as many others. I love Leonard as he is one of my favorite fighters and boxing personalities. But I just don’t think he had enough in a 40 fight career to challenge Robinson for that standing

Leonard fought in one of the strongest eras of boxing in the welterweight and middleweight divisions. I believe that legends like Hagler, Duran, Hearns, and Benitez were better fighters than the less versatile opponents over whom Robinson dominated in the 1940s and 1950s. Leonard was also incredibly intelligent (second only to Ali) and could change tactics during a fight depending on the opponent. It depends on what one considers to be the mark of "the greatest." Robinson is an icon, but in terms of the overall quality of opponents, Leonard comes out ahead.

Not even close, Ray Robinson is the man. Only fighter I might rank higher is Greb, but sadly there's only his Won loss record to go on with there being no fights on tape to see.

It is absurdly close between them. I go for Robinson because I think he had more power on the late punches in his combinations, and I also think he had more one-punch power. He is also taller with a longer reach. He also garnered much more experience before tipping over the edge. At prime for prime you could argue that Robinson had had more than 100 contests whereas Leonard had had maybe 30.

These are measurable differences, mostly, and I think they would make Robinson a much more difficult proposition for any opponent. I really don't think it is that close.
