Hearns' jab would land over and over and the right would follow before Robinson would land. It's really, for me, about Hearns having a long range arsenal that he could land consistently before Robinson would get his shots off. That's just how I keep seeing it go down in my mind.

I like Thomas Hearns but Sugar Ray Robinson murders him at any weight.

There's two guys with awesome power and skills, but one has a dodgy chin.

Regarding Tommy Hearns (one of my all time favourites) I just wonder whether Sugar Ray Robinson was just too much I an all rounder for Tommy - I think he had the flash and speed and virtuosity of a Leonard who pulled out the win against him , the smartness and intelligence, of a Benitez who took him to close decision, the ability to finish a fight brutally and suddenly with power like Hagler could and also the guts out tenacity of a Duran wrapped up in a guy who had massive pedigree - Hearns would be a tough opponent for anyone with that height reach and power etc but I just think that Robbie is borderline greatest fighter of all time and Hearns is not - and at that level the borderline greatest o all time should prove it - Robby is capable of finishing Hearns mid to late I think - 9 or 10 rounds maybe
