At 160? Robinson. I think people need to let the dust settle on Hopkins-Pavlik before evaluating B'Hops.....;o)

Difficult to say. Robinson lost a fair few times at MW.

Imo Hopkins is the second best h2h mw - behind Monzon only. Against Robinson he must be at his absolute best but I see him getting the better of Robinson in a trilogy.

Robinson only loss twice in his prime, once to LaMotta when outweighed by 16lbs, and he of course beat Jake all the other 5 times. The other to Turpin during his European tour, and of course he stopped Turpin in the rematch. Other than that, his losses at 160 were after he came out of retirement following the Maxim fight.

This fight is extremally difficult to call. Ray's speed, combination punching, explosiveness, jab, and all-around fluidity would be trouble for prime Hopkins. On the other side, Hopkins' own jab, physical size, countering skills, defense, and supreme accuracy would make Robinson struggle. I can't decide, maybe a slight edge to Hopkins as he is the more natural middleweight, but that isn't much of a reason.

Don't forget that Robinson's prime was at welterweight, not middleweight. Just the same, I pick him over Hopkins by decision over 15 rounds, with Sugar winning like 9 or ten rounds.

Any 'Great' middleweight beats Hopkin's (That's Greb, Robinson, Monzon and Hagler)

As RJJ proved speed of hand would be too much for 'Nard.

I agree, I think hopkins is better defensly and a better inside fighter than Ray is.

Agreed; especially considering Pavlik was on intervenous antibiotics and fluids just 3 days before the fight.

Yea he had sooooo much trouble making 170, dont think I've seen u on here since the loss, hard luck fella

SRR tight UD, SRR has the style to offset Hopkins but Hopkins defense and timing, inside weight and strength at the weight gives him successes

So if Pavlik comes in 100%, since his pops claims he was sick, you think he beats B-Hop the next time? Or do you think he would of knocked Hopkins out if he were 100% for the fight like the excuse his pops and Jack Loewe are making?

Do you need telling that Hopkins was nowhere near his prime in '93?
