Would Lausse have a chance against SRR had he been given a title shot for the MW title? Lausse had beaten Gene Fullmer and Ralph Jones, both who had beaten SRR. Also defeated Kid Gavilan as well. I think it would have been interesting to see how SRR would have handled the power, aggression and defense that Lausse possessed.
Lausse was wide open for counters, and wasn’t terribly durable. Love his power, but Robinson was ridiculously tough. He weathers Lausse’s early rushes (which were overly dependent on the left hook) and dispatches him fairly early.
