Totally agree, what in the world would Floyd bring to the supper table against Ray Robinson at 147? Speed ? no, size?,no ,,,power? no,strength ? no. His good defense would buy him about 6 rounds before he gets dropped and stopped

Floyd knocks him out in the later rounds.Robinson really didn't have any skill he just went in throwing wild punches hoping to knock somebody out with a lucky punch.

He was perhaps the luckiest boxer in history then...

He certainly wasn't the greatest defensive fighter ever, Pep, Whitaker, and several others had more in their repertoire then Floyd as good as he was. I don't think Floyd is under appreciated here, he was the best of his generation and will be in almost all Welter top 10's but he did not have the power of a Robinson, Leonard, Napoles or Hearns or any of their offensive arsenals or outputs. I'm not sure at all that he would have come out the winner against Gavilan or a prime Luis Rodrigues. Its having seen many greats and near greats over decades that has many here not putting Floyd in the top spots.

It’s kind of ridiculous to think about. Ray Robinson fought at 147 ages ago and there isn’t even good footage of him at that time.

His defense was trash compared to Mayweather’s though. That much is certain.

LOL .. the best P4P fighter in History is trash at defense, 200 fights and never stopped, sounds like trash to me … Well if that's the case then May's offense is a 3 year old playing in his sandbox compared to SRR

There is no question in my mind as to who would win in this fight. The only question is would Robinson still be alive at the end of the first round

Robinson was unquestionable superior to Floyd at beating his wife.

Mismatch if others could hurt PBF SRR sparks him

This is a mismatch where Floyd was at his highest weight and his most experienced and smartest but this SRR was the GOAT at this weight and he was a lethal fighter he would have Floyd the TBE moniker

In fairness, Mayweather beat a number of women (some in public) and once beat, kicked, and threatened to kill his children's mother in front of one of their sons.

I brought it up because Floyd was a distinguished fighter in that regard, but easily outclassed by Robinson. Maybe "outclassed" isn't the best choice of word.
