Since this seems to be Joe Calzaghe month, let's match him up with the conventional pound-for-pound king. SRR is one of the best to ever do it, so we match him up with a bigger fighter.

What does this fight look like and who do you have?

Sugar Ray has normal conditions for this one.
You know, air conditioning, a cold shower installed in his corner, oxygen mask, a substitute to do a few rounds for him if he gets tired ... you know, all things he was unfairly deprived of against Maxim.

I'm sure I'll get some **** but I'm going with the welshman. Ray's best weight in ring and Calzaghes best were about 30 pounds apart, and even a middleweight Robinson would be giving up 20 or so. Ray is to go onto get stopped but he loses a decision. I do wonder if Ray couldn't drop him though. Hmmm...

Robinson is way too small. I see Joe winning a UD by staying busy and going to the body. He possibly drops Ray once or twice in the process.

As stated Calzaghe would rehydrate to 190+ in his era, and therefore be too big, and strong for Ray. Same day weigh in though??????????????????????

Only on this forum does Calzaghe beat Robinson! Good job it wouldn't have happened in a real ring in a real universe!

I think it might be you that needs to live in the real universe. The thread isn't about p4p, its about fighting at a weight that SRR simply COULDN'T be big or strong enough to fight at against ANY good S / Middle, never mind Calzaghe.

Yes of course Robinson was an immortal being who couldn't possibly lose to another alltime great who is 30 pounds heavier than him. You have it all figured out.

calzaghes claim to greatness is debatable to say the least. it seems unholy somehow to even mention him alongside such a real warrior and all time great as robinson.

Calzaghe would be much bigger but Ray would laugh at those slaps

Hopkins exposed Calzaghe and got robbed. Size or not Robinson whoops that overrated bum who happened to be at the right place right time for his career
