Zags would sure throw a lot but its all powederpuff, no effect even if they land. And sadly, his accuracy would be woeful compared to Robinsons, since his accuracy lags versus lesser boxers like Kessler and Reid. Joe carries no advantage due to being a heavier weight, since he cant hit harder or more accurately, not even close to ray. Compare this to Robinsons accurate pinpoint combos all night. Zags chin will help him survive a continuous pinpoint barrage for at least half the fight where he gets increasingly dropped....remember calzaghe was dropped by several gyus who were less than middleweights. but you'd be joking if joe would even contemplate this in his dreams - only if a 50 year old robinson was available would Gibbering Joe suddenly get cured of his pack of lies fear of flying and start whooping **** about facing a 'prime' ray.
That you are a pathological liar is well established, but delusional as well? Care to NAME these LESS than Middleweights? Only as far as the rest of the world is concerned Calzaghe was dropped for the FIRST time in his career by Mitchell in 2003, then twice 5 years later in 2008 by both Hopkins and Jones. So I'll ask you again, like I did on the other thread, would you like a new shovel? Only the holes you are digging just keep getting bigger, you numpty kunt.
roy jones started at LMW. therefore he was originally less than MW. that qualifies. of course, I've always maintained joe has a good chin, so not sure why you are trying to make a point of something that I have already countered. you keep chasing that if you want to though, and I'll keep telling you joe had a good chin.
yes joe gets destroyed by sugar ray early. its a total mismatch, a holder of the least important title versus a multiple weight undisputed, this should not even be considered. its like putting ricky hatton in against mayweather.
So your claim that " Calzaghe was dropped by SEVERAL guys who were less than Middleweights " was in fact lies, and bull****? Thanks for clearing that up. Next.
Roy Jones is much larger than Ray Robinson, surely. And when Calzaghe fought him Roy was a solid light-heavyweight. Seems like you say stuff just to spite a fighter. That's heckling dressed up as an argument.
I give joe credit for what he did fair and square. Isay h had a good chin, good speed and great stamina, and held a record for defences for the least important title. I repeat this inccesantly - is this spite? you fail. BUT YOU seem to want to give him credit for facing and beating the undisputed best ever when he never did anything remotely approaching that, in fact he actively did the opposite! Joe faced the weakest bare minimum he could, when they were weakest.how hypocritical you are. like you don't know for a fact that this whole thread is a joke that mocks sugar ray. don't be naïve if you don't know.
of course roy was a lhw when they fought! do you expect different weight categories to fight whilst at their own weight category? That doesn't happen in boxing bar the odd catchweight between adjacent divisions.
I just love watching fish wriggle and squirm when they are hooked. " This whole thread is a joke that mocks Sugar Ray. " Only a subhuman piece of **** like you could make that up you scum sucking filth. Try getting this into your thick fvcking skull. No one is comparing the GREAT SRR with the likes of Joe Calzaghe in terms of either greatness or p4p, you stupid kunt. What is being discussed is a fight between them at 168, which Ray simply couldn't be big, strong, or busy enough to win.
There can be no such thing as reason with someone who hates Calzaghe the way the KKK hate black people. ( Feral Gee )
now comparing the KKK to disliking aspects of cowardice is just plain nonsense. I wont debate with someone whio does that, its forbidden on this forum, and will result in a ban for the one repeatedly bringing it up. this thread s akin to a hate thread itself, matching the best ever with someone merely pretty good.
Of course Sugar Ray is much greater than Joe Calzaghe -- this is why we do him the honor of matching him up with someone several sizes larger. Because it is feasible he might win against the odds. I enjoy figuring out collectively how the match might pan out, how it would look, to gain new insight from the opinion of other posters. You seem more interested in trying to convince others, while seemingly unable to change your own mind, and playing hardball while arguing your case. That's fair, these forums are for everyone, even though it's not something I personally enjoy.
Exactly, especially re the first paragraph here. I happen to think a significant factor in this match (as in many others) is the scheduling of the weigh-in. Weigh in the day before and Calzaghe's naturally larger size becomes more of a factor in his favour. Same day weigh in (which I think is inherently fairer as boxers then enter the ring closes to the weight they are meant to be competing at) and the pendulum, imo, swings significsntly SRR's way. I'm going to choose the same day weigh in when assessing the outcome of this one; to cut a long story short, I think the SRR who gave a very good Maxim a very good argument at 175 would beat Calzaghe on points at 168; too good, too classy, with enough pop on his shorts to keep JC honest. Another thing, Calzaghe wouldn't beat Maxim at 175 either, imo.
