Robinson weighed only 159 against light heavy weight Joey Maxim. It was reportedly 105 degrees in the ring and most believe that Robison primarily lost the fight because of dehydration and that he would have very likely won if the fight was only 12 rounds instead of 15. Robinson is arguably the greatest fighter of all time, but prime Leon Spinks has at least 40 more pounds of "tempered steel" (to quote Harold Cossell) over him. It's too much. Assuming normal conditions in the ring Robinson uses all his guile and skill to go the distance but loses the decision. One caveat: Spinks had emotional issues. One chance Robinson has is if Spinks gets totally frustrated and totally loses focus.
