Sugar Ray Robinson vs Manny Pacquaio

I've watched both Robinson and Pacquiao, and in no world does Pacquiao have the size, strength, or skills to beat Sugar Ray Robinson.

SRR is an artist in the ring, he had tremendous skill, agility, and talent.

Pacquiao as talented as he is, is very flawed. Just as Morales, Marquez were able to beat him using two different styles, so would SRR.

 

I doubt he works an at place of employment. He says he's the same person off and on the internet, so I doubt he has much of a social life, and I doubt he's able to work with other people.

 

Sugar Ray. He's every bit as fast and just too big. Manny would have never gone up to eight weight classes in Ray's day, and he wouldn't have needed to do so to prove his greatness regardless. SSR does to him what Hearns did to Duran.

As great a fighter as Manny was, he's getting beaten and stopped by a bigger stronger SRR at 147.

 

That's not a fair fight. Manny moved up several weight classes- similar to Mayweather Jr- and to hypothesize matches against ATG's that started at those natural weight classes and moved up themselves (i.e. Robinson, Hearns, Leonard at WW.) is not fair. Manny was never a real WW, he's more of a FW/SFW.

That's like me saying how would Robinson/Hearns/Leonard do against Ezzard Charles at LHW since all 3 of those ATG WW fighters fought at LHW in their careers. Short answer is they wouldn't do well against CHarles. COuldn't expect Manny to do well against a 5 '10-11 Robinson who aside from being one of the most skilled boxers is also one of the hardest hitting punchers all time P4P.

Weight classes exist for a reason, especially when speculating about hypothetical matchups of ATG's who clearly were peak fighters in different weight divisions.
